Date math is off

I don’t know where to begin…I had so much trouble just getting this application to run under the latest Mavericks OS X update. After a half-dozen uninstall/reinstall goat rodeos, I got it to run. So I set up a couple of countdown widgets - stock out of th box, nothing fancy. I had one set to 12/8/2014 (Dec. 8th, 2014), and today (Dec. 7, 2014 where I am physically located) it was at 0 days left (date has passed). No. It. Has. Not. Passed.

Such a simple operation - date math - is worng here.

This may be the worst application I have run in a very long time - and I survived Windows 3.0 decades ago.
